This procedure is more commonly known as a "tummy tuck".
Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure done to remove excess
skin and fat from the abdomen. The best candidates for this
procedure are men or women who are in relatively good shape
but who are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal
skin that won't respond to diet or exercise. An abdominoplasty
is performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure usually
takes three to four hours. For the first few days after surgery,
the abdomen will be swollen and you will likely feel some
pain and discomfort. This improves daily and most are able
to return to work after one to two weeks.
