liposuction maryland Liposuction is an effective technique in helping you achieve a well-proportioned body with very little scarring. It is a surgical procedure to remove unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body, including the chin, neck, and cheeks; the upper arms and above the breasts; the abdomen, buttocks, hips, and thighs; and the knees, calves, and ankles. During the surgery, the surgeon creates a small incision and inserts a cannula, which is attached to a machine that creates a strong vacuum. The fat is then broken up and suctioned out. The procedure can take about an hour or two, however this depends on the area and amount of fat to be suctioned. Most patients are able to return to work within four to seven days, once again this depends on the numbers of areas treated. Liposuction is the most common cosmetic procedure performed at Cosmetic Surgery Associates, P.A., with a location in Bethesda, Maryland.

There are several different liposuction techniques that may be used, either alone or in combination with each other. These techniques include the tumescent, ultrasonic (UAL) and power assisted (PAL) liposuction methods.
